July 7th Meet Resumes July 8th

We had a tough break tonight with the weather, but we are so incredibly grateful to our parents and families for rolling with the punches! Thank you for your flexibility as we navigate this delay. We will resume the meet tomorrow, WEDNESDAY, July 8th, starting where we left off tonight (at 11-12 medley relay). Here’s what everyone needs to do RIGHT NOW:

  1. There is a new meet set up online, called “Do-over: Lifetime at OXH.” If your swimmer will attend tomorrow night, you MUST DECLARE they are attending this new event by 9am Wednesday 7/8 so coaches can set the entries up and build the relays by noon.
  2. Parents MUST SIGN UP FOR JOBS on this new event as well.

The rest of the details are just like a regular meet (though we are only planning to serve regular Swampshack fare and NOT pizza, Chick-fil-a, or smoothies), and if we have bad weather approaching again, we will prioritize the main events (heat one) to get through the meet.

Regarding PARKING - please remember the LOT IS RESERVED FOR THE OTHER TEAM. There were cars parked on islands, in common grassy areas, and a car was blocking the trail tonight. OXH families SHOULD NOT park in the parking lot, but rather park on Trappers Run and walk to the meet via the trail.

The Meet Theme remains: Red and Black!

  • SWAMP PUPS EXHIBITION: Take Two! Swamp pups have the opportunity to showcase their skills in the exhibition race after relays. Swamp pups should arrive by 6:00 pm. If you plan on attending, please email Coach Lilly ([email protected]) ASAP so we can get an estimated headcount and organize swimmers in their lanes. When you arrive at the meet, please check in outside the Club House with our volunteer.
  • Swimmers should arrive at 4:45pm to check in, get settled, swimmers numbered.
  • Warmups will begin at 5:00pm sharp. Meet will start no later than 6pm.
  • Be sure to check in for your volunteer job with Katie before the meet begins, even if you are working a 2nd shift job.
  • If you are a timer, clerk of course, stroke and turn judge, order of finish judge, TSA rep, or meet admin (ie meet officials for both shifts), be sure to attend the officials meeting at 5:45p.
  • OXH pool rules apply during swim meets. The pool is CLOSED except to swim meet events.
  • Heat sheets will be on display on a board at the meet (coaches and several volunteers will also have these to do their jobs, like kid pushers, clerk of course, etc), showing the lane and heat that each swimmer will be in. Please check relays in addition to individual events. Swimmers might swim in a relay of an older age group when there are not enough swimmers in that age group to make a team of 4.
