COACHES CORNER

  • Coach Audrey: Hello families! The swimmers had some great swims at the TSA Championship meet. Thanks for allowing me to be a part of this swim season. I am so proud of all the work the swimmers put into the practices and swim meets. I hope everyone has a fun and memorable summer!
  • Coach Sophia: Hello parents! This has been a great season and I am so proud of how far all of the swimmers have come this season. I will still be doing private lessons until the end of August so if anyone is interested please reach out at [email protected]. Thank you all for your help throughout the season and I hope the rest of everyone’s summer goes well!

FEEDBACK SURVEY AND OPEN BOARD POSITIONS: Please let us know if you have feedback from the season - both praise and constructive criticism are welcome. We would appreciate your feedback by completing our end of season surveyThe survey will close on July 31, 2024.

The survey includes a question about serving on the board next year. Katie Richards has done an amazing job getting board members recruited next year, and there is availability to serve as a co-chair for various seats, or chair a committee. This would be a great year to join and “learn the ropes” or have a lot of support in serving. We appreciate all the parents who have already stepped up to serve, reached out to volunteer, and/or are willing to engage in a conversation with Katie about volunteering for a role!

VOLUNTEER COMMITTEES:

  • Let’s taco ’bout what a huge success the banquet was!! A HUGE thank you to our Banquet Committee for putting together such a great evening to celebrate our swimmers and swim families!
  • Swamp Shack Cleaning and Inventory Committees, thank you for your continued support keeping our Shack clean and stocked with goodies through the rest of swim season. Please check in with Isabelle to ensure the rest of the pool season is covered.

LIVE ACTION PHOTOS AND FACEBOOK PAGE: You’ve probably seen the wonderfully talented Elena Movchan (Adam and Anastasia’s mom) taking photos at meets. The link to her photos is on the team website and can be found directly here https://evm-photo.com/swampfoxxes-2024. Please be sure to credit Elena and her business when using photos. At the end of the season, there will be an opportunity to purchase 8.5 x 11” booklets from the season. More information will come soon!

PARENT COMMUNICATION BOX: Please pick up your swimmer’s hard earned ribbons, pins, and medals from the parent communication box, it is jam packed right now! The box lives in the swamp shack, and you can ask the lifeguards to get it out for you and claim your accolades. Also, team tee shirts for swimmers who hadn’t picked them up during swim season (mostly swamp pups) are in the black box as well.

MERCHANDISE: You asked and we listened! Our team shirts this year are lighter, cooler, and moisture wicking! Show your Swampfoxx pride all around town! We have most sizes still in stock, get yours before they’re gone! You can purchase on our Team Store and it will be delivered to your door! Custom Swampfoxx Swag is also available through our Team Store on SwimOutlet. We have items with last year’s logo and this year’s logo available. If you don’t see a customized item you want, please reach out to Katie Herndon, she’d be happy to add any item that’s available for customization on SwimOutlet.

HOW TO GET INVOLVED IN YEAR ROUND SWIMMING? We have a few families who participate in year-round swimming, mainly at YOTA, TAC, RSA, and MOR. Please consider reaching out to other parents through the Swampfoxxes Parent’s Forum on Facebook if you are thinking about year-round swimming. The forum is a place for parents to connect with each other. Tim Pelc, swim team president, has also offered to help connect families to YOTA families.

THANKING OUR SPONSORS: Sponsors help keep our fees low, so please consider liking, sharing, and/or engaging with our sponsors to thank them for their support. This year, the Swampfoxxes were sponsored by Frank Fortunato at Geico, Liz Fortunato of exp Realty, Gill Zonruiter of Streets of London Antiques, Dana Cassell of Dana Cassell Business & Marketing Strategy, Domino’s Pizza, At-Large Graphics, and Elena Movchan of EVM-Photo.

BLOOD DRIVES: For each donor, the swim team receives a $20 donation! Keep an eye out for additional donation dates on our social media accounts and the website.

FACEBOOK PAGE: The Oxxford Hunt Swim Team shares content on our team Facebook page. We try to also share with the Swampfoxxes Parent’s Forum so you all can stay on top of what’s happening. The forum is a place for parents to connect with each other. We recommend joining both if you can.

OUTSTANDING PAYMENTS: Please be to submit any outstanding payments due (think Banquet, Cary City Meet, Cary City t-shirts). Invoices have been sent to all those who owe money.

That's a wrap on the 2024 Summer Swim Season! GREAT JOB SWAMPFOXXES!
