COACHES CORNER
- Coach Hope: Thank you all for such an amazing season. I am so proud of all of our swimmers this year! We had a great winning season, 4-2. Everyone showed great improvement and sportsmanship! And to top it all off we won the Cary City spirit award!! I hope everyone has a nice relaxing rest of their summer.
- Coach Sophia: Thank you all for a great season! Feel free to reach out if you have any questions at [email protected]
OPEN BOARD POSITIONS: We are now inviting any interested parents to become members of our board! There is not a requirement to have an official role, and there are typically monthly meetings throughout the year (with few meetings in the fall). Please email [email protected]for more information. We could use your help!
VOLUNTEER COMMITTEES:
- Let’s taco ’bout what a huge success the banquet was!! A HUGE thank you to our Banquet Committee for putting together such a great evening to celebrate our swimmers and swim families.
- Swamp Shack Cleaning and Inventory Committees, thank you for your continued support keeping our Shack clean and stocked with goodies through the rest of swim season. Please check in with Isabelle to ensure the rest of the pool season is covered.
- Fundraising and Social Committees, we’re open to any additional ideas to keep our swim families connected now that swim season is officially over, let us know if you have any thoughts we can help put into motion!
PARENT COMMUNICATION BOX: Please pick up your swimmer’s hard earned ribbons, pins, and medals from the parent communication box. The box lives in the swamp shack, and you can ask the lifeguards to get it out for you and claim your accolades.
HOW TO GET INVOLVED IN YEAR ROUND SWIMMING?
We have a few families who participate in year-round swimming, mainly at YOTA, TAC, RSA, and MOR. Please consider reaching out to other parents through the Swampfoxxes Parent’s Forum on Facebook if you are thinking about year-round swimming. The forum is a place for parents to connect with each other. Tim Pelc, swim team president, has also offered to help connect families to YOTA families.

THANKING OUR SPONSORS: Sponsors help keep our fees low, so please consider liking, sharing, and/or engaging with our sponsors to thank them for their support. This year, the Swampfoxxes were sponsored by Frank Fortunato at Geico, Liz Fortunato of exp Realty, Pulse FM 96.9 and 102.5, 8M Solar, Graceful Expressions, K20 Auto Repair and Performance, Haywood Design & Landscaping, Gill Zonruiter of Streets of London Antiques, Dana Cassell of Dana Cassell Business & Marketing Strategy, Domino’s Pizza, and Elena Movchan of EVM-Photo.
BLOOD DRIVES: The swim team couldn’t function without the gracious help from our volunteers. For each donor, the swim team receives a $20 donation! Keep an eye out for additional donation dates on our social media accounts and the website.
NON-PROFIT STATUS: Our team received our Federal NonProfit status this season! As result, we are needing to update our 2019 ByLaws. Attached to this email are our current 2019 ByLaws and a Draft for our proposed new ByLaws.
The Board has decided to forgo the voting of these new ByLaws until the beginning of the 2024 Season. Many of the items outlined in these new ByLaws have already been procedures for our team for a while, and some are updated to new requirements. The Board will work on implementing more of the changes during the off-season. The main change our team will see is a vote for President, Treasurer, and Secretary during the End of Season Banquet every two years (beginning in 2024). Please send any suggested updates to Katie Richards ([email protected]), thank you!
OUTSTANDING PAYMENTS: Please be to submit any outstanding payments due (think Banquet, Cary City Meet, Cary City t-shirts). Invoices have been sent to all those who owe money.
Please let us know if you have feedback from the season - both praise and constructive criticism is welcome. You can e-mail feedback to [email protected]. We are always looking to make each season the best it can be. Until next year!
