Welcome to the 2023 Oxxford Hunt Swampfoxx summer swim team season. Each week you’ll receive a summary email of events of the week. These will come on Sundays or Mondays.

COACH'S CORNER:

• Coach Hope (ages 7-18):

Hello everyone!! I’m so excited for this season to start! I wish I could be there for the kickoff and our first practice, but I will be finishing my exam session at George Mason. This week we’re ready and excited to get in the water and prepare for a great season! Last season I offered private lessons as an addition to the team practices for personalized attention and help, and I will be offering the same this season. Please reach out with any questions or interest! I’m excited to hit the ground running and start another amazing season. Go Swampfoxxes!

• Coach Sophia (6 and Unders):

Hi everyone! I’m excited to start our swim season this Monday! Typically the first week of practice will be a mix of dryland and being in the water due to the temperatures. I’d recommend bringing clothes to put over their suits just in case we decide to not get in the water. Additionally, it would also be a good idea to bring two towels. One that they can use during practice to keep them warm and one to use after practice. If you have any questions or concerns feel free to contact me directly. I can’t wait to see you all at our first practice!!

START OF SEASON DETAILS

• Practices for all start Monday May 15 and continue weekdays (M-F) from 5-6p and 6-7p. Swimmers can come to either practice, but it would help the coaches if the swimmer sticks to one of the two practice times. Swimmers are encouraged to come to daily practices, but please keep them home if they are not feeling well.
• Please have swimmers bring goggles, a towel (or 2), water, and sneakers to be prepared for both pool or "dry land" practice. Team swimsuits are not required.
• Summer 2023 team swim suits can be purchased at Kiefer Aquatics/All American Swim at the store on Maynard or by placing a phone order and paying for shipping to your home. Images of the Rise Helix-Red (female $36, jammer $30) are attached.
• Swamp Pups don’t begin practicing until next week, May 22.
• Practice cancellations or delays are sent through the Swimtopia App. The app is free for basic needs (like communication). A paid subscription provides more features such as timely results of swim meets. Be sure to log in with the e-mail address used for registering for the Swampfoxxes.
• Registration for swim team remains open through May 28.

• Blood drive:
  • The Oxxford Hunt Swampfoxxes are proud to continue coordinating the Oxxford Hunty community blood drives! The next blood drive is this Saturday 5/20/23 from 12:00PM - 4:00PM at the Oxxford Hunt Clubhouse parking lot. Residents and their friends have the opportunity to save 3 lives with each donation. Mark your calendar as we have 32 appointment slots to fill! Appointments are recommended, walk ins are welcome. As a bonus, every successful donor will receive a $25 e-gift card - which can be redeemed for use at Target, WalMart, Lowes, Chipotle, Game Stop, Amazon and more.
