Thank you Swampfoxx families for an amazing swim team season! 

It was wonderful to be back to a normal swim team year, swimming against other teams, even if some of those Tuesday nights ran so late! While the 6 week competition season can feel overwhelming at times, it brings me so much joy to see my kids becoming better swimmers and having such a good time with their friends and neighbors week after week! 

This is our final weekly update for the season and I want to thank all the board members for their contributions to the updates.

COACHES CORNER:

Coach Mary: I just wanted to thank everyone for an incredible season! Everyone did so well and improved tremendously. I am sad to be leaving, but will be down to visit during meets next season. I hope everyone had as much fun this season as I did! As always, Go Swampfoxxes!!!!

Coach Hope: I would like to thank everyone for making my first season coaching such an amazing one!! The pool has always been a special place to me, and I am so happy that I was able to extend that feeling to all of these swimmers. Also, in turn they all helped me rediscover my love for swimming and simply how much fun it can be. Thank you all again for such an amazing season, I can’t wait till next year!! If there was anything this season that you didn’t feel like you improved enough on, I am available for the rest of July for private lessons for anyone interested!! RECAP BANQUET AND AWARDS:

Thank you to the banquet committee for a successful final event of the season! We know a lot of work goes into planning the event, including the food, decorations (loved the old trophies!), awards (for swimmers, board members and coaches), raffle items, registration, and more.

This year’s illustrious Coaches Awards went to Zoe Miller and Anna Walker. Congratulations for a job well done!

OUTSTANDING PAYMENTS: Please be on the lookout for an invoice from our team for any and all outstanding payments due (think Banquet, Cary City Meet, Cary City t-shirts) during this coming week. Thank you for your patience while we merge a few different lists to check payments!

FUNDRAISERS

While the main events of the season have mostly completed, we want to remind our swim team families about fundraising events that continue throughout the year. We also want to thank our sponsors who play a huge role in keeping our fees low and helping to pay our coaches for their instruction. 

LABOR DAY PARTY: Swim team season may be over, but we’re not done celebrating yet. Please come out to the pool for our annual Labor Day party!! This is a fundraiser that benefits our Swampfoxxes. Please be on the lookout in the next few weeks for communications about signing up to help out by bringing food or volunteering your time. Can’t wait to see you there!

BLOOD DRIVES: The swim team couldn’t function without the gracious help from our volunteers. Our next blood drive will be Saturday September 17th. For each donor, the swim team receives a $20 donation! Keep an eye out for additional donation dates on our social media accounts and the website.

SWIM TEAM MERCH: Who says team spirit is limited to the summer season?? Christmas in July for all our Swampfoxx Swag: Oxxford Hunt Swim Team. Every Swampfoxx needs something! :)

PARENT COMMUNICATION BOX: Please pick up your swimmer’s hard earned ribbons, pins, and medals from the parent communication box. The box lives in the swamp shack, and you can ask the lifeguards to get it out for you and claim your accolades. Also, our team photos have arrived! If you ordered a photo package, you can pick up the packet in the parent box as well.
