Week 7 Updates
COACHES CORNER AND SWIMMER OF THE WEEK:
- From all coaches: Parents, as a reminder please make sure you are accompanying your swimmer(s) to practice if they are under the age of 10. This is a pool rule and we want to ensure the safety of all swimmers. We also ask that your swimmers check out with us (Hope or Mary) before they leave Tuesday, if they are going to be leaving early. We want to make sure everyone is there for their events and if they need to leave, we can find another swimmer to fill that spot.
- Coach Hope: This was a great week for everyone! There were very few disqualifications on Tuesday, so we can continue to build up anaerobic capacity. Going into this next week, we have no practice on Monday July 4th. However, I encourage everyone to attend Tuesday morning practice right before our meet. We are now in the second half of our season with three meets left!! I am so proud of how far everyone has come, and I can’t wait to see how we end the season. Thank you all again for another great week!
- Coach Mary: We had another great week! There were only a few disqualifications on Tuesday night, so this past week we worked on small details for each stroke. On Tuesday morning we will be practicing for our meet Tuesday evening. Have a great 4th, I am looking forward to seeing everyone on Tuesday!
- Swimmers of the week: Colton Young and Caroline Cassell for pushing themselves beyond their limits
- Meet Theme: Our meet theme for this week will be 4th of July - red, white and blue!
EXCITING UPDATES: Congratulations to Avery Edgerton for setting a new pool and team record in 6 and Under Girls Freestyle with a time of 0:11.83!! A huge thank you to Dave Delcambre and Tim Pelc for their work on getting the amazing record boards approved and hung to the left of the Swamp Shack. This has been a long labor of love that has finally come to fruition. What a great way to honor the history of our team. Also note the Team Records are displayed on our website as well now - thanks Jason Newton!
JULY 4TH POOL PARTY FUNDRAISER: Thank you to all the parents filling jobs and concession donations. Our team is a success because of YOU! Hope to see you enjoying the party between 12-4 on the 4th.
