Swim week 5 updates

COACHES CORNER AND SWIMMER OF THE WEEK:

  • Coach Hope: Hello everyone! This past week we successfully competed in our first in person meet! I am so proud of everyone, swimmers and parents, for swimming fast and helping out around the deck. We’ve been working on our strokes to prevent further disqualifications, and it is definitely paying off. This coming week we will be away competing against the Regency Riptides! I want to remind everyone that we need to be good sports and respectful especially because this is not our pool. That would include staying in the water until everyone is done with their race, saying good job to the people next to you, cheering on your teammates, and cleaning up after ourselves. Thank you all again for another great week! I will see you all next week!!
  • Coach Mary: Hello parents! Everyone did so well at the meet this past Tuesday and I’m so excited for this week's meet! This week we will be focusing on our starts and prepare Monday and Tuesday morning for the meet. As this week starts please remind your swimmers of these two important rules: make sure to always use walking feet on the pool deck and most importantly to not jump in the water until one of the coaches tells them to. I love that all the swimmers want to be in the water, and while I want them in the water as much as possible, this rule is for safety reasons. It allows for us coaches to efficiently help the swimmer in the water and move on to the next swimmer. I am so excited for this week and look forward to seeing everyone on Monday’s
  • Swimmers of the week: Elliot Mapes and Taylor Wiener for continuously pushing themselves in practices!
