• COACH'S CORNER:
  • Coach Hope: Hello Parents! Throughout this week we faced some challenges with the weather, but that is nothing unexpected during the summer swim season. However, with the in-the-water practices we were able to get in, the swimmers worked very hard, and they continue to improve from practice to practice. This week we held a strong focus on freestyle. We worked through some drills to emphasize the recovery and length of the pull in the stroke. Additionally, the swimmers continued to keep what they had learned last week with a strong kick in mind while swimming. Thank you all for another great week! I will see you all this week!!
  • Coach Mary: Hi 6&U parents! The kids have been rockstars the past few weeks getting in the water! I know the water has been a bit cold after the rain/cooler weather this past week but hopefully the water will warm up quickly! Last week we started working on backstroke and will continue to do so this week. Pups started this past Wednesday! We will be getting into the water on Wednesday at both the 9:30 and 4:30 practice. Keep practicing floating on your backs and blowing bubbles! I'm looking forward to another great week!
• MEMORIAL DAY POOL PARTY: Thank you to all who have signed up for the jobs at the Memorial Day Pool Party! Come on down and have fun! The party runs 12-4p!
• SWAMP SHACK IS OPEN! The concession stand will be open during adult swim breaks where there is lifeguard or attendant availability. Many thanks to the swamp shack committee for making this possible!
• SWIM TEAM MERCHANDISE: Swampfoxx swim caps, koozies, Swamp Shack snack cards, stickers, and past year shirts can be ordered online at: https://oxxford-hunt-swim-team.square.site These orders can be picked uFp rom Katie Richards during practice or during meets. Please note that shipping seems to be between 3-4 weeks from the order being placed. Our swim team earns 5% of all sales!
• VOLUNTEER COMMITTEE NEWS: Thank you to the Swamp Shack cleaning and inventory committees that have been hard at work getting the Swamp Shack ready for business. We are officially open for the season!! All other committees, feel free to reach out to Katie Herndon and Sarah Newton if you have any questions or need any guidance!
• SCHEDULE UPDATES: There is no practice scheduled for Monday, May 30 due to the holiday. Enjoy!
• MARK SWIMMER AVAILABILITY: It is important for all swimmers to be declared the attendance for time trials/meets in Swimtopia. This should always be done at least one week prior to a meet so the coaches can properly plan the heat sheets and minimize changes. Time Trials are a week from tomorrow, so please mark your swimmer for Time Trials by tomorrow.
