Swampfoxx Updates

It was wonderful to see so many swim team families at the kickoff event last night. Too bad the rain storm decided to hit just as we were conducting the meeting!

If you were unable to attend (or just need a summary of the meeting), please keep reading the following important information. Swim suit information is at the bottom.

  • VOLUNTEER COMMITTEES: There is a black box with parent communication at the pool. During practices, the box is often brought out to a table at the pool. Other times it is stored in the swamp shack and a lifeguard should be able to get it for you. You can find your volunteer committee form in that box within your child's folder (along with ribbons from last year). Please check the box ASAP so you can plan roles with your committee members.
  • We could use a few more people to sign up for Cary City Meet Committee (3), meet set up (1-2) and Fundraising Committee (2) if anyone is looking to help out. Contact us on the website, or e-mail [email protected] to let us know if you are interested/available.

  • COMMUNICATION: Remember to download the SwimTopia app to be notified in real time of practice cancellations (be sure to enable push notifications). The coaches will also be posting on the Parent's Facebook page for any practice cancellations as well.
  • SWIMSUITS: Swimmers are asked to wear a Swampfoxx Swim Team swimsuit for meets, or a red or black swim suit (one piece for girls and swim jammers for boys). The team suit can be purchased from All American Swim [If you shop in store you receive our swim team discount: 1231 NW Maynard Rd]. There is also a swimsuit Swap Box, which can be found at the pool. If your child no longer fits into their suit and you don't need it, drop it in the box for other families. And if you are looking for a suit, check the box for previous years swimsuits. All American Swim will know the team suit if you tell them you swim with the Oxxford Hunt Swampfoxxes.
  • PRACTICE GEAR: Swimmers should bring goggles, water bottles and towels (suggest 2 towels for younger kids) to practice. To help them prepare to participate in meets, it's helpful to have them practice in the gear they will use during meets - a one-piece suit for girls, jammers for boys, goggles, and hair tied back or a swim cap. Swim caps will be sold by the swim team, along with other fun merchandise. Stay tuned!
